Bird Heaven

The grounds at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa at Ka’anapali Beach were very pretty and well manicured. This seems to be a very popular wedding venue because of the beauty of the grounds. From what I understand, the Ka’anapali Beach is not wide enough for weddings to take place there, but the grounds of the resort run right up to the beach. Weddings are allowed on the resort grounds, just not on the beach. Seems like an ideal place for a bride to be able to have her photographs taken with the beach in the background without having to actually get in the sand. The photos from yesterday’s post, Chasing Sunshine, show more of this.

My favorite area on the property was the bird area. Mainly water foul living here since they had a man-made pond, stream and waterfall here as well. Here are a few of the acquaintances we made:

This guy was in the lobby area. He says “aloha” to all the guests.

…and here are a few more photos from this same resort:

Lunchtime for the bumble bee

Plumeria or Frangi Pangi – highly fragrant and used to make leis

Tahitian Gardenia or Tiare Flower – while photographing it, I said “I smell gardenia,” not realizing THIS was the gardenia I was smelling.
