Aloha! Please join me as I explore all the beauty of our new home, Hawaii! You may find posts about the flora, fauna and food or the history, traditions and cultures that make up these exotic islands. You may also find day to day tales as I adjust to my new lifestyle in this new magical land.
Living in west Texas for the first 40 years of my life, I always had a longing to be some place warm, tropical and humid. I have always wanted to live “at the beach.” Vacations almost always ended up in areas that fit that description. Caribbean, Bahamas, Gulf Coast, California coast, Hawaii, Mayan Riviera and the west coast of Mexico were the places I explored.
My career took me to central Oklahoma for a few years. While I loved the scenery and the people I met (friendly, like Texas folks) it still wasn’t warm, tropical and humid… When it was time to move on, Florida is where we landed. It was warm, tropical and humid! All the requirements were met, or so I thought. We made the most of every minute we were in Florida and met wonderful people and made lifelong friends. While the beaches, water and scenery were beautiful, something was still missing. Only one place had the magic, the mana, the ALOHA!
